PPAZ Birth Control Matters Video Contest - The Winning Video

Planned Parenthood Arizona's Birth Control Matters Contest put out a call for the public to produce a 30-second Public Service Announcement about why birth control is important to them and why it is a vital part of prevention health care.

The entries for this contest have been narrowed down to three finalists. These videos will be shown to attendees at Planned Parenthood Arizona's Roe v. Wade celebration events during the months of February and March, and a winner will be chosen to receive a cash prize.

Please "thumb up" and comment on the submission you think best emits the values of honesty, inclusion, fairness and respect, and best embraces the following vision: Together we will create the healthiest generation ever by putting sexuality education and sexual health care in the hands of young people -- giving them the information and power they need to shape a healthier future.

The video with the most thumbs up will receive recognition as "People's Choice" on our Facebook page.

The description given by the creator for this video is as follows: This PSA focuses on a young mother who has to give up her child because she is so young and cannot provide for her. She is writing a letter to her daughter, explaining the importance of birth control and how using protection helps to ensure a successful future. The video aims to illustrate how "normal," "regular" teenagers can be deeply affected by failure to use birth control. By educating the next generation of youth on sexual health and protection, we can provide them with the tools to have the futures of their dreams.

I think that the issue of birth control is very important, especially for teenagers. Instead of creating a difficult life for themselves, birth control can help them have happy, healthy lives. It is important to get this message out, and I think this video does a good job of that!
