  • @bowlingballcom

what's a better ball for dry lanes? tropical heat (solid or pearl?), tropical breeze, or roto grip rising star?

    Thanks!

  • @L3g0Fr3ak The Tropical Breeze is going to be the best option on dry lanes. It has the smoothest backend reaction with the most length. The Kona Blue and Pink/Purple are both pearls and would be great. The Teal/Black is a solid ball and will be a little less suited for dry lanes.

  • Lmao Bruswick is its own company as is storm. No one owns either (though storm is a sister company of roto-grip and brunswick shares its plant with lane #1 And morich).

  • @Thecoasterchannel True. However, Lane #1 is now being poured by 900 Global.

  • @bowlingballcom whats the difference between tropical heat and tropical storm, besides its name?

  • @yihanglee The Heat uses the Turbine core also found in the 2Fast, 2Furious, Natural and Natural Pearl and was formerly used in the Fast and Furious and Street Rod and Street Rod Pearl. The Tropical Storm just has a Modified 3-piece Core with the same Reactor coverstock.

  • Just got mine drilled about 3 days ago, should be ready by Friday. Which is perfect because Saturday is my league bowling!

  • @crimsontide1980 the red blue is a pearlized cover stock where the black is a hybrid. Same core, but the black silver has an earlier smoother reaction. there is also a new tropical heat out there now that is solid. those three balls would be a GREAT trio to tackle most patterns.

  • Just rolled 3 300's in 2 weeks with both the pearl red/blue and hybrid black/silver heats.

  • I got the orange/purple tropical heat the ball is awsome it dont hook much on a fresh shot but when the lane breaks down this is the go to ball for sure on super dry lanes. But on dry lanes the ball wont over hook and it finishes pretty nice. i throw the ball 17 mph+ with tons of revs and it is my go to ball for dry lanes.

  • So I notice Tony throws the Red/Blue Heat and then a black/silver one.Is there any difference in them? I noticed they were drilled identical but the blue/red Heat seemed to cover more boards.

  • i would not recommend using the tropical heat on wetter lanes, there is no hook whatsoever, i've had mine for 6 months now.

  • whats a good Ball for Moderate Oiled Lanes

  • those lanes are BONE dry.
