i have my 521 (Pentium 4 HT 2.8ghz) @ 3.4ghz. i cant go higher because im on intel stock heatsink which was ment for a much cooler core 2 duo. i would like to take it to 3.8ghz (which it could do easily if i had a good cooler)

coolness doesnt always affect a cpu, you can't assume it will go to 3.8 even with liquid cooling. there are other factors you have to consider, including stability which affects your cpu and northbridge and your ram if you're overclocking that. 3.62 was the highest i could get to run stable enough. but hey, if you can run at 3.8 with a better heatsink, great work

fenderbender91 it can goto 3.8 but i have to up the volatge (when i did that the temps were crazy high even at idle) and yes HEAT does effect it... if theres to much heat the possibility of burning up your processor by pushing the voltage high increases. the ram i was running was already underclocked (rated higher that what I was running it at) and the motherboard is made for upto 1066mhz fsb. the pentium 4 i had hits 1066mhz fsb when i have it at 3.8ghz...

Well if you have got it to that, then thats okay. If you just assume its going to go to 3.8 because it runs cool at 3.6, there are other factors you need to consider. I know heat does affect it, but if you have a cpu running cool at 3.6 then you can't assume itll get there. Sorry, i had read your thing wrong and thuoght you assumed it'd go to 3.8 but by the sound of your rig it'll get there pretty well :) make a vid
