  • its hard to tell. But when you run it have some strips of wood handy the size of your transom. Go for a ride and addd a strip 1/4 -12 inch at a time. youll know when your too high when the motor starts to cavitate. Your loooking for the sweet spot. doing that will gain you 5 or more mph. Im gonna guess your going to be pushing the 20-25 mph mark. fells a whole lot faster 3 inches off the water tho.

  • You got the plans for it ?? I can help you and send pics of my build progres if you need them.

  • It cost me $24 for ply wood and $40 for fiberglass. $25 for paint and varnish. so about $100 givertake

  • she seems kinda rude lol my gf told me the same thing when i built my 12.5hp outboard motor lol

  • @MrLeonard55 these plans are from svensons.com from "Science and Mechanics and other older books in this web side you find minimost and other boats. you find that boat in the hydroplane section of svensons. any one have glen l zip planes for share?

  • I built 2 of these minimax boats 30 years ago out of a boat builders book. All of my 3 sons had a blast in them. To my suprise, I searched and see that other people on this planet earth have made them also. Cool beans

  • Where can i get plans?

  • that thing is thin

  • yeah my motor sits a little low cause it seams to make a spray of water around the middle of the gearcase at wot and its sits low in the water i might try adding about a 3/4 strip and see my 8hp nissan 2 stroke planned it off decent even though the prop is a little dinged up i was happy it beats using a trolling motor

  • do u have any clue as to what prop would give me decent top speed cause i have the stock prop wich i assume is proped for low end power ?

  • i am finishing my minimax with the coaming mod on the top so mine is heavier probably about 125lbs with resin and glass etc plus 58lb 8hp nissan 2 stroke and im about 150lbs how fast do yall think this will go roughly?
