We had been asked to sing the national anthem at various events, so our director arranged this version for us. It's probably the song we have performed the most! Enjoy!

  • I hear that the lucky students at their old high school get to listen to this every morning. I doubt they truly appreciate the "world class" performance they are hearing each day. It really can't be done any better than this.

  • @Jazzbeu55 Funny you should say that. They've been replaced with the studio version of the Strong Winds singing it. The cool thing is that 3 of them get to hear their voices on the PA every morning. I did do it a couple of weeks ago, live on the PA with my new choir.

  • as a yank i remember when our brothers and sisters to the north helped some americans escape from iran many years ago..i personally want to thank canada,a bit late, for what you did years ago,,these young ladies are a asset to the youth of the north..

  • @25FIREBALL Thanks for the kind words, from our southern neighbour. One of the girls is studying just outside Chicago this year.

  • I love this video. Despite being beautiful, it has only 17,000 hits. I can't help but notice that the most popular versions of this song have over 100,000 hits, even though the singing isn't as good. All of those popular versions show the Canadian flag as the only visual. It's time to edit this video to start and end with that Maple Leaf flag of yours. Maybe you can show your pretty faces in the middle, but this one needs to feature the flag if your countrymen are to make use of it.

  • @Jazzbeu55 Our high school plays the studio version of this every morning. I take much satisfaction in trying to pick out the various inner voices. They blend so well, it's tough to do, especially with Catherine (2nd soprano) and Sarah (1st alto). At times, the Four Strong Winds have sung this live over the PA, as well as for various other events.

  • im American and this makes me want to move to canada lol

  • I'm not Canadian, but I've heard good performances of "Oh, Canada" before....... and this.... well, this was a superb performance!

I'd love for you all to try the British and American national anthems... because I like your groups particular harmonization and clean vocals that don't involve excessive use of vibrato.

  • Can you do it in French?

  • Wow, ur voices make me want to move to Canada!!! amazing sound!

  • heck, where I live might as well be canada, its pretty freakin close

  • We love you Canada!

    Love,

    Your southerly neighbors. :)

  • Not sure where you girls live in Canada but this would be A+ for the national anthem at a hockey game

  • @MusicLover8048 There is no body movement or choreography (to create a need) and it is a stairwell rehearsal video, rather than a live performance. Why would they do lip synching in that situation? It really is their voices. The sound quality is consistent with a video recorder mic instead of studio mics. If they were lip synching this, surely they would use a studio version. If you are suggesting it is another group singing, I'd love to know who it is. Get real! They're good.
