Just one week before the release of Michael Moore's new documentary about the American health care industry, Moore traveled to Washington to push for universal health care. Truthout's Geoffrey Millard followed Moore as he testified before Congress, and provided a screening of the film to health care lobbyists. SiCKO premieres around the country on Friday June 29th.

  • bullcrap..go to Canada, Britain and France and talk to them before you trash their system. You have no idea what you are talking about.

  • I personally got shut out of our profit first health care system. I was an independent self-employed person. I was told that I couldn't get insurance because I was deemed a medical risk, I was 23 years old and had never had a serious illness, just a biopsy that was negative. When one company shut me out, I couldn't get insurance from anyone. That experience that went on for years, convinced me that our system is corrupt and unfair. I now live in a state where I can't be denied coverage.

  • i wouldnt mind paying extra taxes to cover 30 million uninsured people. socialism doesn't seem like a bad idea when it comes to healthcare

  • Kaiser... hmm. old word for Ceasar. Many a Ceasar concidered themselves Emperor of the world. Kaiser Permanenta - Permanent Ceaser. Fuck that! LEt's take 'em down. Go Michael! I've been a fan since Canadian Bacon.

  • Like a person mentioned earlier..in Mass there is mandatory health insurance. I myself live here and have my whole life. They tell me I have to have medical insurance but wont allow me to get it through the state. If i purchase it, its an average of 75-100 dollars a week, 400 a month,4800 a year. Now when was the last time I was sick enough to go to a doctor? About 10 years ago now. So thats 48000 dollars gone for nothing. And that doesnt even include dental or persciptions. Sorry but no ty.

  • You know I hate the idea of mandatory insurance. It won't cure anything because the current insurance companies deny, deny, deny all coverage that they can. So what -now we all have to pay a grand a month for nothing? DENIED.

  • We have far from a free market.

  • My whole father's side of the family was born in Canada and have experienced their system.

  • Wow!

You really are clueless please move to Canada so you can wait for rationed garbage healthcare.

  • I love your comments....its time for the giant cultural pendulum (pendulldumb to Republicants) has to swing our way. The problem is not even political, it the POWER of raw in your face, life, and anus corpros (see Sinclair Lewis) rape of our minds and culture. It has to fucking stop. We are dying inside, no outside power really threatens our existence you paranoid coward Repunks. IF you're so white heat mad join the fucking Army and die in Afganistan for Bush oil profits that still hit accts

  • he is not a saint and who wants to party with a saint anyway, but he tells the TRUTH. What people also fail to realize is that 90 percent of his movies are people telling their stories. Its not Michael talking for them. He is VERY reliable, especially in comparison to the right-wing, which lies, distorts, and distracts, every fucking day.
