cute video. bizarre composting method. steer manure is a much cheaper source of nitrogen, typically free, to start the pile. you don't need to waste energy /money on the hog/wire. you can just pile it up, and cover it with a tarp. you only need 'layers' if you're not going to turn the compost. get your hubby to turn- 21 days to compost max. grass clipping are great. your alfalfa pellets have more chemicals than grass clippings. theromophilic process renders it harmless.

well if its wet rain it just might, but if its of the dry variety it will have no effect,

will it hurt to put popcorn tree leaves in it, even though it may contain popcorn tree seeds. I plan to go over the leaves with a mulching mower and catch the stuff in a bag before I put it in a compost pile. Will it hurt to use popcorn tree leaves, even with the seeds??
