I created this for an officer safety class I had given. It starts out with police radio traffic with officers attempting to serve a warrant. Well it all goes south and shots are fired. Then the slide show begins with Amazing Grace on bagpipes being played in the background. The Slide show show pictures from police officers funerals. Very moving. (The officer is not injured in this event. The suspect shot himself but I edited the audio to make an impression on the students.)

  • Was the officers' entry of the house legal? Don't they need to be pretty sure the person named on the warrant is actually in the house to enter legally? Were they sure enough in this case? If this was an illegal entry - does this change anything? Maybe not?

  • @joybetainak Arrest warrants usualy allow the search of places of residence to search. As to being sure enough the suspect was there? "Oh hi Officer..., Yeah my brother is here he's upstairs let me go and get him...(2 minutes later)..oh Officer....I forgot my brother left 3 days ago." What does that tell ya? It aint rocket science.

  • name of the bagpipes song?

  • Amazing Grace

  • @purposeo well said, also if there is anything in plain view it gives you a lawful reason to be at the place, in other words to enter.

  • @joybetainak Officers can enter a home if they have probable cause that someone's life is in danger and you don't need a search warrant to enter the residence. When someone has a gun and there's two people in the house, then that's enough to articulate someone's life may be in danger. However, once inside, the can only search where a person can reasonably hide, so if they find cocaine in a drawer then it'll be inadmissible in court.

  • That gang member is a ass hole

  • This video is exactly what law enforcement is..at least a part of it. Hearing the radio transmission gave me chills..it's those words that i've personally experienced before @ work. Its very Sad to see the numbers of losing a brother/ sister in the line of duty. God bless all our LEO's.

  • a my father is a former police LT in the force and he alomst lost his life im thankfull to all of the officers who risk there lives to help ours and the fallen

  • I have been to 8 police funerals within the past 5 years. 7 Phoenix 1 Gilbert. The amazing grace on the bagpipes is so beautiful to hear but the sadest also it always gets to me when i hear it, along with the last call over the radio. my heart goes out to all fallen officers along with: Family, Friends, and all officers who have lost one of their own.

  • My cousin is an ex nypd officer may god bless all those who protect us!
