I agree with you on this one. I heard the same thing with regard to Justin Broadrick's dislike of this album, and quite frankly, was shocked by it. I believe that it is one of the better albums by GODFLESH. Much more advanced in construction and soundscape.

I think it's because of the dominant electric sound, on Us and Them the guitars are more in background compared to earlyer albums. Electric or Heavy - Godflesh rules.

I also heard that this was his least favorite, but it has one of my most favorite songs in Control Freak...Great fuckin album.
