Ten years ago, the September 11th attacks shook America to its core. In the aftermath, we stood together as a nation. We received support and sympathy from all over the world. But in the past ten years there have also been missteps: Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, violations of the rights and freedoms we hold dear. As the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches, Human Rights First would like to hear from you about how does the spirit of resilience and community that grew out that tragedy continues to guide the nation.

Please record a short (under five minutes) video of your thoughts on what our nation has learned from 9/11, what values keep us going, and what positive lessons we can learn from our response to those events. Use your cellphone or your webcam to record your response and then email your video to 911video@humanrightsfirst.org. You can also make a video response on YouTube. These responses will then be incorporated into a video that Human Rights First will release to commemorate the 10th anniversary.

  • We blew it. In the 10 years following 9/11 we behaved so badly that Islamic hatred of the US increased tenfold and Europeans came to see us as fools. Recovering from those 10 years will be far more difficult than recovering from 9/11.

  • "We will never forget 9/11"

What a joke... ask some of the newer generations and you'll be surprised. If anything, all 9/11 has brought are conspiracy theorists who say they've figured it out. All 9/11 will be is just another short chapter in a history text book. Middle school and high school students will just sit there doodling, talking, and falling asleep in class just like the way they are now when hearing about the civil war or the first and second world wars. It's just another event.

  • The Angry bearded desert niggers who believe an ancient pedophile psycho is the messiah learned not to fuck with America. Or they will be forced to play twister naked with other naked men. & use the Koran (ancient book of crazy desert fables) as toilet paper. That is what the sandy niggers learned. What did America learn? Kobayashi can eat a lot of hotdogs.

  • 10 years later and what have we learned?

Absolutely NOTHING. The sheeple are still hypnotized. Gov't has expanded in every way possible. America, the modern day Roman Empire, is heading towards a violent end.

  • thank god for pres obama and the stimulus with out them where would we be now... oh and nancy pelosi that woman is a genius. lol.

  • America made the mistake of adapting to the principles of the people that were attacking us instead of leading by example. By torturing, lying to its citizens, spying on its citizens, using drones to kill civilians, creating a private army, controlling the press, letting corporations dictate our rules and interfering with other governments we have sunk to the lowest levels of integrity in our history.

  • @fil777100 like the implosion strategic ThY? Or, the CIA made me do it ThY? Perhaps, the jet fuel was not sufficiently hot or plentyful to chow down entire towers...Was the Airliner that hit really a hit? I think there is so much that is not told...but, common sense and history has shamed us due to The Bush Forceful Resolve...(s)!

  • I learned that although America came out on top, the US government is not be treated as perfect and glorious, but as volatile and dangerous. America ruined it's international reputation in these 10 years-Guantánamo, rampant Islamophobia (up to and including hate crimes agains muslims), and finally, the disgustingly enthusiastic celebration of Bin Laden's death. Despite all this, America is not all bad. There ARE good, respectful, honest people here, even if the radicals make most of the noise.

  • Pride and Patriotism clocked in secrecy and war of the tragedy of 911 has resulted in the DAMNATION OF AMERICA. These are the government conspiracies of war and capitalism of the military industrial complex. America chooses to rebuild building not it's government, for the people by the people, human rights first NOW,

    ENDS WAR AND TERRORISM !

  • I learned we can't trust the Government or the people in charge. False Flags raised, innocent people killed as an excuse to kill more over seas. Spend Spend Spend on killing over there to "Stimulate" prosperity over here. Sick and twisted these people are who run our Economy and our Government, and, now that we are all "Patriots" under the Patriot Act, our personal lives as well. Sick sons of bitches. All of it bought and paid for by a Central Bank. Sick Economics.

  • I prefer an 'Invisible' but nevertheless an intense expression on the sense of SOD I felt that day that would be difficult to imagine : -

1).S _SHOCK of such MAGNITUDE that it left me speechless, numbed and shaking at the same time, a very rare even in my life

2).O_OUTRAGE , that I was witnessing in REAL TIME, such an abominable CRIMINAL ATROCITY unfold before my very eyes, I was totally HELPLESS to do anything about it

3).D_DISTRESS that so many people were trapped to die such painful DEATHS
