WOW! First of all, I have to give props to these TEABAGGERS for their nice editing job.Second of all a Replubican was invited to speak on the panel but he decided not to attend. So why are you nutcases stretching the truth? These KIDS who RUDELY INTERRUPTED this seminar do not even attend UCR. Also, Max answered "your question" many times. If you were to play the whole video, instead of random pieces of it, you'd get your answer.unless you college teabaggers just simply cannot comprehend.
There was never an effort to secure a republican candidate on the panel. They cannot name the republican who refused, they released the list of people asked before the even and there was no republican on it. All they had to do was contact the UCR college republican president and there would have been several names of people who would be willing to sit the panel given to the event organizers.
GOPFoSho: Max has never tried to utterly shut down any Republican event. He used his voice and intellect and asked questions. Very much different from what occured at UCR on Oct. 1st.
Yes, in fact their were efforts made to reach out and secure conservative voices on the panel and those were declined. Why didnt the CR take it upon themselves to be the voice of intellectual debate? The CR is an embarrassment to UCR.
Their modus operandi was eliminationist. They wanted to eliminate any other voices to be heard. There was nothing intellectual about their display. In fact it was profoundly toxic. They wanted to shut down debate & in a way it was a fascist display. Where's American democracy & discourse? What is this radical conservatism? Is it to shut down debate & eliminate any other voice? Its poisonous to democracy. Feel free to call it a fascist moment in CR history.
People are clapping in the crowd because Jonathan Walton (one of the panelists) asked for political discourse....and everyone cheered him on. No one wanted the panel to be interrupted by such an infantile display yet, this edited version makes it seem otherwise. How sad they have to lie to promote their....complete unscrupulous lies.
Actually as shown in the UC highlander article prior to the speech, no republican was invited. Additionally, there were plenty of conservatives that would have been more than happy to sit on the panel... for example... the College Republican president... why invite only a liberal student? why can't conservatives have a say on campus, too?
This video shows how MESSED up in the head these "college replublicans" are.

No one tried to shut anything down, conservatives simply wanted their voices heard. It was the audience response that interrupted the event.

I think these college republicans and the way this video was produced pretty much confirms what max has been saying.
