I don't mean to be mean, but please don't refer to it as 'Mass.' That's Catholic terminology. For us Orthodox it's called Divine Liturgy, not Mass.

Well, Ukieboi83, if we're going to get technical, it's the ROMAN Catholic Church, and it's the "Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom."

@Ukieboi83 Being Eastern Orthodox, I understand that the appropriate term is the Divine Liturgy, of which there are a few versions, such as the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, the Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great, Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. That being said, Divine Liturgy is the equivalent of what Catholics refer to as Mass. It is the celebration of the Eucharist.

Yeah, a lot do. In Russia I believe the majority of them do. Where I live in the US (Northeastern Pennsylvania) you'd find some parishes that do and some that don't. Funny you noted that. I was raised Ukrainian Orthodox and the that parish didn't start using English till about 5 years ago. I guess it all depends on the community, BTW Khristos Razdyetsja! ;o)

Yes yes, thank you. I know Byzantine and Ukrainian Catholics do too, but I wrote that, because this is after all Russian Orthodox. The term Mass and Liturgy are not interchangable for us.
