NY Looks to Ban Soda From Food Stamp Buys

Using food stamps to buy sodas, teas, sports drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages would not be allowed in New York City under a new government effort to battle obesity. (Oct. 7)

The woman in the video said that she drinks the sodas and the kids drink the juice. I didn't know that food stamps were for the mom, I thought they were for the children. Besides why are they complaining? They can still use their own cash to pay for soda.

Some people on food stamps have worked but a lot of them haven't. So it's not always getting their own money back. And I guess you would have punched me in the face too because also insult people at the store while I have my little cash and they have their huge EBT. If minimum wage goes up to $16 then the price of everything that you buy will rapidly increase. Food would go up, gas would go up, rent would go up, etc. If people did the right thing and got married before they had kids and both parents worked, then there would be a double income. Even if they both made $8 minimum wage, then they would be making $16 an hour together.

Pass a law that forbids employers to pay nothing less than $16/hr then ppl wont need the damn foodstamps. Drive down the cost of living some how.

All meat should be banded from stores unless its organic where the animals eat grass and not corn produced products.
