I haven't heard many announcers yet who really understand pool (unless they are pro players themselves). The problem with this announcer is that Souquet is his idol, so he can't believe that there's luck involved in any of the shots. For him, they always seem intentional all the small kisses included. Regardless, solid play from Souquet after missing those two opening shots.

@BlackjackDSapolis No, I'm not saying that. You did make it sound like Ralf was your idol. If that's not true, sorry for my mistake. Listen, this comment was essentially not about you or Ralf at all, but it was more a general note about announcing. I have this same issue for example even with the BBC commentators in snooker tournaments. I'd only like the announcing to be more realistic in general. I came here to learn about straight pool and I did, from both you and Ralf. So thanks for that.

It's cool. FWIW, I have known Ralf (and I have known of Ralf) since before he was a famous player. He's a good person, a great payer, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that has anything bad to say about him. Ralf is respectful to everybody, and myself, I return that respect - and I am glad that comes through in my commentary, Also, I can guarantee you that when he pocketed the 1 ball and nudged that 6 over, that is exactly what he meant to do. That is just how Ralf plays. :)
