Wikipedia article. I don't usually use this as a source but I do want people to have an idea about just what happened. I don't intend to make a habit out of this though

EuphoricImpact's original video concerning this situation.

I would also like to thank the Montgomery, Miami, Allen, Auglaize, Shelby, Mercer, and Darke County historical associations, as well as the Ohio Historical society for all the work they do to preserve our national heritage.

I would also like to thank the folks at Fort Recovery, the Piqua historical society, MECA (Miami Eire Canal Association) for access to their historical information and to the volunteers who have helped me root out the facts over the years in my travels all over the state

  • Why are people apologetic about using Wikipedia? Wikipedia should be the first stop ALWAYS on a quest for knowledge. It is only a problem if it is the end of the journey, if it is knowledge you seek (and not just "facts").

    Thanks for the video.

  • @TKStoddart As a starting point your correct its fine. Some people use it as if it were as good as other references. I don't mind people using it for over views or even to get an idea on actual sources. Its only the arm chair scholars that seem to think it works for anything that tend to be a problem

  • Oh I don't even want to get started with that one :)

  • @mojosideburns "It is what it is."

  • @ReignbowSmite Not quite: America was a Transportation destination but Transported Felons were not legally slaves.

Slavery was an African industry though: Our true shame as Europeans and Americans is that we industrialised this trade instead of stamping it out.

  • Well they managed to wipe out the fact that the Boston Tea Party was caused by lowering taxes not raising them so anything is possible!

  • Oh, and speaking of hacking-has anyone seen acromagnonman??? His channel is down, I wonder if that's what happened. If anyone knows please tell me. Peace.

  • @mojosideburns This legacy continues also. You can see in many cities the tension that so often exists between Blacks and Hispanics, Irish and Blacks, Irish and Italians, etc. When I was in prison people I met were utterly astonished that I was Irish and from South Buffalo and not racist. One guy thought I was kidding until he saw I was ready to fight him if he didn't stop using the "n-word" while conversing with me. It's sad. Peace.

  • Keeping the oppressed fighting one another instead of their mutual oppressor is a tried and true tactic for the elites. America undoubtedly has the most complicated history regarding this due to it being comprised of so many different demographic groups. Particularly before all "white" people were "white" people.i.e. English the best, then Dutch and Scottish, all the way down to the "lowly" Italians, Irish, and Slavs. Who were in turn viewed as above the Indians, Asians, Hispanics, and Blacks.

  • An online copy of Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" is available, but I don't know for how long.

  • Great video!!!

I would like to know what these people would say if we in Germany would change our history and get rid of all references to WWI and WWII.

I think we should learn from our faults, our history and our faults in history. That is why we should try to keep every single detail of our history and still try to find out more about our history no matter how inconvenient the truth might be.
