  • Agree. Autotune is distinctive. Even in the slightest use. Adam Levine uses it a lot! You can tell.

Where the Light Is...its all Mayer naturally. There is a difference from Autotune and mastering. Plus to autotune his channel from a live recording would produce evidence. He uses no autotune.

  • Your ignorance amazes me. How can you not acknowledge JM musical talents?

  • IDGAF if he used autotune or not. His music is beautiful, he is a beautiful artist.

  • @MalcolmBucklund He must use auto tune on his guitars.... cause every note he hits is perfect... hahahahaah

  • John on autotune: "have and will. On every record since Room for Squares. You just can't notice it." (uses a comparison to plastic surgery) Search it on YouTube "John Mayer on autotune" He is a god!

  • actually he does use it minimally live and in studio. said so on ustream.

  • @ilivestrong25 Yeah I don't have a problem with it. Its really hard to use autotune live and mask it up so you'll rarely hear autotune at a live show (unless you're at a T-Pain show and if you are, shame on you). Thats why so many people sound bad live but John Mayer is just a freak of a musician

  • @OvertheHills821 to be fair every artist today uses it on their albums whether they want to admit it or not. It is just a way to perfect the sound. No one wants to do ten thousand takes in the studio to get the perfect take...we would be waiting twice as long to hear a new album from the artists we love.

  • @91joeharrison he uses it on his albums and of course he will use it on his live DVD. He wants it to be perfect because it is a defining performance that many many people will see/hear. If you watch this performance or go to one of his regular concerts, he will not use it. I know cuz I have been to a few of them. And he still sounds damn good every time. So I don't think anyone should question the mans talent. Not saying you were though. Just letting it be known! haha

  • @MalcolmBucklund Mayer admits he uses autotune, and on 'Where The Light Is' there are a couple of obvious slips where it's not been autotuned properly. Particularly in 'I Just Can't Trust Myself...' - check it out for yourself.

  • On this vid at least, you can tell there's no autone, coz sometimes his voice is cracking down when he's singing very high.

  • guess what? John doesn't care if you think he ain't got the talent. why? he's JOHN MAYER MAN!
