  • Brilliant! Bob Hoskins is amazing in this film and the ending is so good; his face says it all.

  • subtle and important note: Pierce Brosnan is what makes the scene gel (from a directorial standpoint). Hoskins is the lead, we watch him, we try to decipher his face, we think we understand. But only when we see Brosnan smirk, we know he understands too (we were watching from his perspective), and our interpretation of Hoskins' expressions are validated. A perfect example of how a film needs both a great lead and great SUPPORT. contrast: Michael Clayton ending, no face to counterpoint... boring

  • i scared the crap ,,outta my orangy wife ,,listening to this...lol....im a jew....lmao

  • Pierce Brosnan's smirk is the best bit in the whole movie....... i got you.

  • So here's the comment that may make you go back and watch it all over again. Fascinated by Bob's expressions? The answer lies in the direction. This from BH some years ago. The director explained what was going to happen and the scene was to be about 5 minutes. He told Bob that once he saw the gunman and realised what was going on and that he was trapped, that he should then play the whole film back to himself in his mind during the scene. He then left Bob to get on with the acting.

  • He should have had a bag of sweets in his pocket, then he could have given everyone an acid drop or a dolly mixture. It's very hard to be nasty to someone after they've given you a sweet.

  • @TheMasterNo6 It's my belief that Helen Mirren's character was just kept out of the way. If they wanted to kill her why separate them in different cars? But it's a fantastic ending. I think Hoskins character was definately killed in the end, it's just left to the imagination how it's done. Wasteground, bullet in the head. Tragic end but brilliant film.

  • And the moral of the story is .......dont be fuckin with the irish brethrin LOL

  • @sigmaman93 ..mm again there are always those who are never completely happy with any outcome!!..thats why theres so many problems in the world today..and have been for hundreds if not thousends of years...and it'll continue in much the same way,..''and realy if these few or what ever the case may be..haven't the support which is then needed..then this few wouldn't clearly be active in any way shape or form....but there are always those few that are''..but its not IRA anymore..its now Al-Qaeda
