Ah the jingle with the circle logo......... good childhood memories..........
-
If I recall, this intro was designed to help teachers prepare their students for the upcoming programmes.
I remember sitting down to watch Stop, Look, Listen 2mins before the start. This jingle will always be remembered.

@jx866 More than that even, for some he recreated them entirely (i.e. the roto model, the clock, everything) which is much more than just the captions. I remember very clearly him speaking about the effort he put into these recreations which he did as the original tapes weren't good enough so it's by far more resplendent and sharp that this somewhat fuzzy video shows. Apparently those videos and more are due back at TV Ark at sometime, hope they pop up soon.

@623058 the 40 second clock was only ever used on the 9.30am junction, this was introduced when C4 became independent and didn't have to fill from 9.25 like they used to, so C4 put in an ad break and went to schools at near enough 9.30 and not 9.25.
-
@623058 Yep it should definitely be 40. I'm guessing it's an inaccuracy in the recreation, unless C4 made an exception for the last day. I'm sure they wouldn't have missed those 20 precious seconds of ad revenue..!

Has anyone else notice its the full min countdown, did there not cut it back to 40sec by this stage?

@arrivayorkshire I googled it and found it on a website. Let me know if you still want it. It's also one of my favorite tunes.
-
I started school in autumn 1992 when this was still being used. I remember we used to watch a programme called Time For Maths and when this came on beforehand everyone used to clap along to the music
-
Love it big memories of this when off sick god I would do anything to finback to then!!!
Most of the roto/clock sequences from itvschools are recreations, IIRC he borrowed the master tapes and keyed his own captions (recreated based on actual junctions) over the clean sequence. Note the distinctly modern sharpness to the captions which can only be achieved using modern equipment. The original captions were more aliased and 80's-looking, and often subtly changed in appearance (no doubt depending on which cap gen was used.)
Cracking music though, it never gets old!

I loved listening to this tune when I was repairing TVs and VCRs in the 80s. Of course the programmes were just as good. There was also good music with the test cards. Unfortunately the good times don't last for ever.
