The now former lighthouse at Hartland Point, north Devon. This is now a private home and the light has been switched off and removed. The day I visited was not a great day for filming, but Lundy Island could just be made out through the gloom. The road leading to the lighthouse has eroded so access to the lighthouse is now only by helicopter. The Johanna (shipwreck seen in video) wrecked here in 1982.

I would not advise climbing the cliffs as rock falls here are very frequent.

This lighthouse is to be switched off soon and replaced by a light on a pole on the cliff top. The severity of the erosion around the lighthouse makes any repair uneconomic. This station has not long left.

I was able to actually visit the lighthouse & be given a guided tour by the light keepers daughter.. must have been about 1984 or 1985 ish. There was a larger building there then.

Yes. That was demolished in the mid 90s to make way for a helicopter landing site.

Thank you for the info! I remember it to be a beautiful lighthouse. There was also the remains of a wrecked ship on the cliffs below at the time of my visit... Just seeing your film on Youtube brings back good memories! Thanks for the uploads!
