Drug Testing on Beagles

For six months, a PETA undercover investigator worked in an Ohio lab where beagles were force-fed Oxycontin, a drug that had already been tested on animals and had been on the market in the U.S. for decades. The tests were conducted ostensibly to satisfy Japanese regulatory requirements. This case led to PETA's involvement in the International Conference on Harmonization, which works to streamline regulatory requirements for drug testing.

progress doesnt come without consequences... i dont know what this testing was for but if its to save lives of humans and other animals then that dog being there is what God intended for it. i love my beagle and i hate to see one have to go through that but it just means that my lil man gets to have a chance because of reserched medicine. now if the test was truly for what the video desription says, thats wrong.. id rather them use illegal aliens or deathrow inmates

@hahswilliamr BULL! Do you own a former lab beagle?? I don't think so. First, the torture of one innocent life, even a dogs is not worth saving 1,000 humans! Second humans and animals have different reactions to medication so why bother. I own a former lab beagle. He is blind in one eye, and has seizures constantly. He might be happy now but was the saddest dog I had ever seen when I fist got him. So keep telling yourself the things you do if it allows you to sleep at night!

Why is beagle of all breeds chosen to be lab rat? Ask yourself the question. It is not because they are immune to pain, lack of needs for love or not fit to be in a loving home. It is because they are tolerant, loving and friendly. They won't fight back. Because they have a kind heart. It is this trait that made them lab rat. Being selfless gets you no where, people will only take advantages of you. Being a beagle's owner, it is ridiculously sad for me to see this. It might be for the greatne

I'm going to adopt a beagle one day just because I know what happens to them if they don't get a home. Its not much on a large scale but it makes me feel better.
