Guys, it's not easy to leave there right now. I have a friend there for schooling, and when this happened she tried to leave. Barely any planes are leaving, and the one she did find, cost about $3,000 for a ticket.

I agree with you completely. This whole situation was handled completely horribly. The Japanese government are trying to cover their ass, and keep a calm face internationally while virtually pretending nothing is wrong to the citizens. And the sad thing is many Japanese do not want to realize that something catastrophic has happen in their country. To make matters worse we have western media sensationalizing the situation which makes finding accurate information almost impossible.

For many governments, it is simply standard policy to tell the public “there is no risk to human health” from even the most severe nuclear fallout situations (as we are still seeing pursued by the Japanese government, despite mounting evidence of high level radiation outside the “exclusion zone” around the Fukushima plant)

Workers who trudged into the contaminated water were burnt by the radioactive water that spilled over the tops of their boots....reportedly they were not told of the danger then....the point here is that people really must be self responsible. This poor soul is making the heartwrenching point that everything is not as it seems. This radiation that has taken them so long to admit to its dangers, it's going to hit the children the hardest. How do people live with THAT???
