@grouchomarxmusic well than that further proves my point haha. I haven't really followed him but you are correct so a genuine thanks for the correction. I don't know if I meant to put decades or not but he's been there forever and picking up an accent makes sense
Friend of mine moved from the northeast of England to the USA and when he visited home after 3 years he had a bit of a Manchester accent. Very strange.
Brad has been in the UK for the best part of 20 years. Is it really so strange that his accent has changed?
@nssteph I wasn't intentionally trying to lose my southern accent; on the contrary, I love southern accents and would love to have a stronger one. It's just that some people have a tendency to unconsciously adapt to their environments better than others. I'd say Friedel is one such person.
@MrMatthiasSchneider I'm also an American who has lived almost his entire adult life overseas, and having been around expats for more than a decade, I can say that it really depends on the person. I'm from the South, but all of my friends and colleagues over here are Brits, Canadians, and Americans from the coasts. When I went back to the U.S. for the first time in almost eight years, the first thing my sis said to me at the airport was "what happened to your accent?"
@811chelseafc I'm aware of that, but a) it's not a slight accent and b) he was a grown man (26) when he moved to England. Nonetheless I support him and think he's a great keeper. I just think his accent is fucked up, and it's not by accident!
