Nicky Bomba shares the story of Melbourne Ska Orchestra's origins, and talks about how musicians in Jamaica combined their tropical music with American jazz and blues to create the earliest versions of the genre, becoming the precursor to reggae and rocksteady. The clip features a backstage interview and clips from MSO's performance at Bluesfest 2011, including one of reggae's first hits Bob Marley's "Simmer Down", performed here MSO style.
