I spent New Year's Eve Before we went over to some friends just trying to turn my body out of the Crucifix and around the pole. Or just grab the pole, sit inverted on the pole like a butterfly or a caterpillar, push up backwards on the pole....anything...something!

Then I got a little tired or bored so I tried just extending and turning my legs around, forward, backward, whatever. Really I was just trying to get "comfy" hanging around up there. Now when I saw the video it looked pathetic because I am two inches off the ground over a bunch of toilet rugs. But when I was up there it felt like I was hanging off the edge of a skyscraper!

The first time I saw the reverse pole kat (or inchworm, or caterpillar, or snake) was on Wendy's channel. She is the owner of NYPD and I couldn't even believe anything like this was possible. She has these 14 foot poles that disappear into the stratosphere and there she was shimmying backwards up into the ceiling. It seemed super-human. I really wanted to do something like that.

Well, not quite--at least not in this video, LOL! But I pushed my bottom up about two inches one time!

You can't tell because of the music overlay--but one time--when I've got the red Tee on, I just started laughing because it was so cool just hanging around up there. I was having a blast!

  • @trishmanny2007 Thank You, Trish!!!

  • I am wanting to put pole up in my garage, would it be sturdy enough ?

  • @suebickerton Sue, I have seen poles set up in garages. You probably need to figure out a way to get up on a ladder and inspect the roof supports and jopists to make sure they are still in good shape. Garages take quite a beating since they are rarely heated inside and the wood expands and contracts quite a bit...

  • You would really need to take a good look at the joists and woden supports up top. If you are going to buy a portable pole, there would need to be a flat and level area at the "ceiling" to place the rosette or top part of the pole. It's really hard to answere your question without actually seeing the situation--however, MANY of the famous you-tube polers (including Tara-Karina) have used storage lockers and garages to pole in.

  • Thank You, Katielead130!!!

  • dont listen to baalize joel......plain rude!! ...i think they would more than likely find...if they actually tried do do some of the moves you can do, that poleing is 1000 times more physically demanding in the sense of power and strength than jujitsu!! i think your an inspiration and i would love to have the same ability as you!

  • Thank You, Sugarlisx!
