Sooner or Later - Chapter 23

Sorry, i know i suck!

Recap: I looked at my mom and laughed and then looked to Joe who was staring in awe at me. I coughed slightly which broke his gaze. "U-uh, well anyway! I'll let you two get back to shopping!" He laughed nervously. "See you soon, Beth." He smiled sweetly. "Oh Joseph, just before you go. Could you ask your mother and father if they want to come around for a family meal tonight? Including you and the boys." She smiled. "Sure, i'll tell my mom to give you a call later." And with that he left.

Really, mom?! Are you trying to ruin my life?! A family meal?! With Joe and Nick and me in one room. This is gonna be one heck of a night.

*Beth's POV*
After me and my mom went shopping we went home to get prepared for dinner tonight. I was watching telly while she was in the kitchen preparing dinner when the phone rang. "Hello?" My mom answered. "Oh hi there, Nicholas!" She replied. My heart skipped a beat at the sound of his name. "Of course! Yes! That'd be an exellent idea. Ok, see you soon. Bye." She put the phone down and must've carried on with what she was doing.

I sat there thinking of ideas of what Nick could've wanted to ask my mom. I settled on him wanting to ask my mom if he could bring round a game or something, we normally have dinner with the Jonas' then play a game.

An hour or so went by and my mom told me to go and shower and get ready for tonight. She told me also to wear the dress that i bought today as it was summery and not too formal. (Dress at end of video :))

I hopped in the shower, got dressed and applied a subtle amount of make-up on. I left my hair naturally curly and put on some gladiator sandals.

It was 7:03pm so i figured everyone would be here soon. I walked down the stairs when the door knocked as i got to the bottom of the stairs. "Beth, could you get the door please? It'll be the Jonas' and Adrianna." She said from the kitchen. Who now?! Adrianna? No. No. No. I opened the door to be greeted firstly by Mrs. Jonas then Mr. Jonas then Kevin who all gave me hugs. Joe walked in, his liquid brown eyes scanning over my body, shooting me a sweet smile giving me a one armed hug. Then Nick walked in along with Adrianna. Obviously me thinking he rang earlier about bringing a game was far from what he had bought.

Nick walked in and hugged me and Adrianna shot me a sweet smile. "I love your dress, Beth!" She complimented me as she followed Nick into the kitchen. I heard everyone
speaking to my mom and dad in the kitchen. I shut the door and leaned my back against it and let out a small sigh. The quicker we start this night the quicker it will be over. I put on a fake smile and walked into the kitchen, joining in often on the conversation.

"How about you all go get sat down at the dinner table? Dinner will be done shortly." My mom smiled. Everyone walked over to the dining room and took seats. I was helping out my mom serve the dinner on the plates. Me and mom walked into the dining room and put the plates down where everyone was sitting. As i gave Joe his dinner i brushed against his back on my side. He turned his head to look at me and smiled. I smiled weakly back and carried on bringing out the dinners. I took my dinner and went to take a seat. The only seat available was the one next to Joe. Great.

Nick was facing opposite to me sitting next to Adrianna. So, I was facing Nick and sat next to Joe. This night is going to get better, i can feel it ... not.
