I dont mind hot summers though, because i pick my venues carefully. In blistering hot conditions i go to suffolk water park which is pukka for catching off the top on dog biscuits :D

Yea my bad you already mentioned dog food. I tried some boilies last night they stay on the rig very well . I like them but have yet to get any luck with them.

Further to this you might like to know that i was not the only one unable to get them off the top or even get them to take a surface bait.
Its been a very hot summer so far (BOOOO) and you cant get a take easy so the floaters have been out!
As with many lakes they were hammered on floaters when they first went in as stockies and now they will not touch em, not even the freebies.
Have had the doggies out over Abbey lake though (still cant catch em!)

And a lad had a 20.4lb today on my Goldfish out of the very same lake!
So well done to him and I am well pleased:)

Drill holes in dog food it works when they are on top. Dog food is the best top water bait for carp!
