  • You are right, and kalo was eaten as poi by babies and the toothless since they had no options. Today In Samoa it is still eaten strictly in its natural form, as other areas of Polynesia - as for myself I love it when I enjoy it cooked with palusami and oka!!

  • @puakaliku out off all the people in the world who use kalo (colocasia esculenta) hawaiians are the only people how pounded there kalo to make poi. a taro corm will rot poi will not+)
