  • Loved seeing the Richmond Hawks, my older brother marched with them. 64-66.Loved the activity.

  • D&B as God (No, I don't mean George Hopkins) intended it!!!

  • I marched against the Royals in 1965 and we lost to them at the evening show in McCormick Place. It was their best year.

  • Love the "Old School" moniker!! Hell the Corps I direct and teach the Drumline NOT the Battery still uses GLOCKS!!!!!!! as well as single tenor drums straight bass rud bass and of course snares.ALL snares tenors are 1960's 70's era reconditioned recovered 10 lug LUDWIGS NOT table top sounding drums!!!

  • Listening to the Drums Corps of the 60's really makes me realize how much

St. Rocco's Cadets were so ahead of there time..... Too bad they didn't compete Nationally.....

  • Thank God i grew up when i did! I was in The Hawthorne Muchachos in 1976 and 1977. If i were 18 again in the world of Drum Corp today, I would have no interest in the activity. And that's a sad statement.

  • I have a Royal Aires uniform in perfect condition. If only we could reverse this amplified, hula hoop, trumpet, 25 man pit, "Corps" of today and bring back the Corps like 27th Lancers, Hawthorne Muchachos, and 76 Blue Devils!

  • The Hawthorne Caballeros are an American legion corps

  • I'm a member of American Legion Post 27 Drum & Bugle Corps out of Bessemer Michigan. We are called Marty's Goldenaires. We still play about 25 performances a year. We just did a half time show at Lambeau Field. Are there any other American Legion Corps out there besides us? In my 30 years in the corps, I have never come across any.

  • @mackenbob I am old school too. We did not have a pit, Timps marched, etc. Good instructers could bring out the best in everyone & they did. We knew how to use dynamics & did just that. No amps needed
