Union demonstrators in Portland, Maine, show their disdain for open and public debate on card check legislation and attempt to simply shout down any opposition and intimidate anyone opposed to their views.
If this is how paid union activists react to a bus coming to town to educate and register voters, just imagine what they'd do to a worker who didn't want to sign a union card!
In between the catchy chants, the demonstrators made the thoroughly discredited claim that Card Check wouldn't get rid of secret ballots, but would merely give workers the option of joining a union through an election or through signature cards.

@makeinstall Look Brother, I am on my way to becoming a trade/labor expert. Putting limits on imports from low wage countrys is not new. In the past, manufacturers demanded protectionist policys from our Gov and got it. This was when China was closed and the CEO had no control over imports. Now China is open and the worker is demanding limits. Now the CEO and the corporation have the Gov on a rope. So it's screw the worker.

@makeinstall China's overall economy is still 1/8 of the USA. Should America get a Pres. to run on a protection platform, China will shit in it's pants. Back to the books and the Big Macs.

Look, I am not pro China but the Chinese have outdone us. The Unions demands ridicules and not needed considering the laws they enforce are already laws. We have become an importer and have stopped exporting our goods. When we became consumers China made its move and we lost. The only way to come out of this is to pull everything in and start exporting. We need to concentrate on US exports and screw this one world concept because the US is the only one with something to lose.

@rickbar123 No way China has the buying power of the west? Really. Lets look at the Economic indicators.
We''ll start with a basic one the Big Mac Index. Big Mac in the People's Republic of China - USD 1.83 in the US - USD 3.54. The Purchasing Power Parity US 14,624,184 in Republic of China 10,084,369. Thats the purchasing power in those countries so by you making statments like you did is flat out BS. America is not in the position to tell China anything the new standard will be the Yaun.

Yes, our Company is incorporated and the CEO Occasionally makes my dinner. And we also dine with other business partners from the community. You are just trying to demonize all CEOs and all corporations in order to support your jealousy of others hard earned success. We have our Masters Degrees and we also work upward of 14 hours a day so that our children can also get their Degrees and you want the Unions to collect your money and throw you a bone.

@makeinstall Why do you belive such things ??? Do the CEOs have you over for dinner ??? I don't see the moneyed classes having a clan lover over for tea. The American worker is greedy ???? Wow !!! worker wages have been flat for 30+ years while the CEOs are rich beond their dreams.

@makeinstall 1- that technology often was paid for by the US taxpayer. 2- China is not stupid, they know what the technology is and it's handed over, all of it. 3- Going to China makes no sense. The technology is shared the day it's handed over with other Chinese companys that are partnered with China's Gov. 4- It is the greed of the CEOs and the Investor Class. The love of short term gain our CEOs love so much has made China a super power.
