Isla St Clair and Pipe Major Gordon Walker feature on this clip from 'Highland Laddie' the long awaited new movie by award winning producers Highland Classics and director Patrick King, creators of 'When the Pipers Play'. 'Highland Laddie' is a collection of songs, music and films about the Scottish Soldier which reflect his spirit, his gallantry, his irreverent humour and of course the pride he felt for his regiment.

Although the words to Scottish Soldier were written with World War Two in mind they are just as relevent today - a tribute to all soldiers, not just Scottish. This sequence, filmed mainly at Edinburgh Castle, features the Pipes and Drums of 6th Bn Royal Regiment of Scotland. The song was arranged by Ian Lynn. For more information on how to get the 'Highland Laddie' DVD + CD SET contact the producers - highlandclassics .com - website.

  • That's the best ever rendition I've seen of the famous Andy Stewart song. Brings it right up to the present.

Can anyone confirm the statue she signs beside, was that the one in Dundee? Looks like it.

  • Yes it is the Black Watch statue just outside Dundee.
