A very noir feel to heroics, yes? It was violent, of course, but that's what also makes it very human. Not just because we are violent as well, but to show the ramifications of violence.
Very akin to the comics, considering they did it almost scene by scene, which makes it very visually stunning. The comic is better though. Always are, right?

I liked Watchmen quite a bit. My favorite characters were Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach. The director used a trick there with Dr. Manhattan, though. When you're watching a movie and they explain a character then they move away from that character for an hour and suddenly he's back in the story, you've been distanced from him. You don't feel a connection as strong as the other faces that you have been seeing for the past hour. That way it was easy to make it turn out the way it did.
