A bit different this time: three channels in one episode, none of whom had a half-hour "documentary" in them. Last: Anglia.

This episode has the worst video and audio quality. Sorry.

This is the last in the third season of ITV in the Face. I hope to complete the series with Ulster, Scotland and London in November.

  • Complete the series with London, UTV and STV? o.o; Didn't you say you were going to do GMTV at one point? Just wondering.

  • GMTV would have been part of the breakfast episode but TV-am took over the whole thing. If I can't get 30 minutes out of UTV I might put it there.

  • Was Anglia really a minor? Ulster and Grampian seem slightly more minor in my eyes.

  • Grampian are going to be covered concurrently with STV, Ulster...I think I can get half an hour out of Ulster.

  • Anglia's ident = utterly majestic.

Bit shocked to find out that the knight on his steed is solid silver, always looked 'plasticky' to me.

That'll be the flat lighting, I suppose...

  • Well, Stirling Silver.

  • I guess anglia being a minor is irrelevant, what is relevant is that it only had like 3 idents in its entire history: black and white knight, colour knight and anglian flag.

  • @Feisty1967 Agreed

  • Meridian on its own would take less than 30 secs

  • How dare you insult our region? We are fenlanders and PROUD!!!

  • I think you could have filled it out a bit more by talking about Sale of the Century, Survival and Gambit, all of which made by Anglia and shown some clips of said programmes. Just an observation, that's all.

  • Just who is this blocked nosed buffoon?

  • I lived in Norwich in the 1970s and it played the whole song at opening in the morning. It played longer that what you have on here, more than just 1 min.

Also @Feisty1967 yes you are corect. I remember going on holiday to Skegness in Lincs and it was the main chanell there, also it was the second chanell to ATV in the midlands in the Mansfield area in the 1970s. It was as clear to watch as ATV until one day in the late 70s it was taken over by Yorkshire TV.

  • @steveh31no2 Anglia never adopted the 1989 generic branding.

  • You neglected to mention that until 1974, Lincolnshire and North Norfolk were served very well by Anglia TV and Anglia had a transmission area which extended all the way up the East coast as far as Scarborough. Then Yorkshire TV got shirty about it and wanted a bigger transmission area. So Anglian TV relinquished the Belmont transmitter and handed it over to Yorkshire TV. Anglia TV was much more professionally presented than YTV with in-vision continuity and much preferred by Lincolnshire

  • is it just me or did anglia seem to do a hell of a lot more programming as soon as they dropped the knight idents? Almost as though they were ashamed of anybody else in the ITV network seeing it? ;)
