GPS position is determined by use of trilateration rather than triangulation. Trilateration uses intersections of spheres. Triangulation uses angles.
Very common mistake.
3 satellites give you 2D, it requires 4 satellites to give 3D position!!!! The 4 satellite is to correct for time and to give altitude or the 3rd dimension.
Couple of other minor errors but otherwise good info. The principles don't change much in GPS.
