It can take up to two years to prepare a police horse for patrol. Here we catch up with Sgt Dave Martin from Essex Police's Mounted Unit to find out how the horses are put through their paces in nuisance training. more videos on http://www.essex.police.uk

  • @OliviaHorseLover109 They prefer abject beginners I've heard

  • Amazing. Sacking is key, but the amount of it required for a job like this is just monumental. So much patience required for both rider and horse.

  • these horses have balls to be able to walk straight into a fighting crowd.

  • Amazing animals! And the horses are pretty cool as well.

Just kidding, humans are shit but the horses are awesome.

  • Hmm maybe this can be a future job for me! Horsie patrol! lol

  • It's always amazed me how the horses stay so calm whenever i've seen them at concerts etc....and alot of the time just seeing them can calm people in the crowd down I think.
