Russell Means Speaking at the Transform Columbus Day Rally

Russell Means was just one of many speakers at the Four Directions/Transform Columbus Day Rally in Denver, CO. This is the first seven minutes of his eight-minute speech. The march evolved into a protest of the Columbus Day Parade which began 100 years ago in Denver. Protesters and organizers called for an end to the holiday that celebrates a man who brought genocide to the native peoples of the Americas along with the Trans-Atlantic African slave trade. Means, along with 82 others were later arrested for peaceful civil disobedience by the Denver Police Department. Instances of police brutality were witnessed and recorded by many on-lookers. Just wanted to let the Native Americans know that today my school (mostly blacks) held a anti Columbus day protest today. We understand you you and the majority of blacks are disgusted by this,wont celebrate this and Im proud to say that our school is now refusing to celebrate your genocide.

@uncleruckus714 Ah, there were plenty of white men, boys who were murdered and white women/girls who were kidnapped/raped by Native Americans as well. It's all an escalation of force, power and manipulation; once the idea of manifest destiny kicked in, the Native culture was then truly doomed because it could not compete with European dominance so the natives either adapted to white mans' ways or perished. I don't know if 'Imperialism' played apart in the Americas, that was a British thing?
