This is footage of activity at the "airport" in Ailinglaplap, one of the outer atolls of the Marshall Islands. The plane only comes once a week, so school gets out and the village comes to the airstrip to watch. Their mail and supplies come on this plane as well.

  • nice place!

    Hi from french riviera

I"d like to visit kawalajein one day maybe...........

  • That is so cool.

  • If the plane was a U.S. Navy C-47, this could be Majuro in 1950 and our family was landing from Kwajalein. Majuro Atoll was an unspoiled jewel in those years with a total population of not more than 1,000 people and the center of an incredible adventure for a 10 year old boy. I realized in later years how fortunate I was to have shared that time with a special people. I sometimes wonder about who might remain from my boyhood Marshallese friends and what memories we might share. Iokwe yuk!
