Shot this at the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club Rally (MSTEC) on the 7/3/09 whilst filming a documentary. The Sherman was demonstrated by Pat and John Belfield of the now closed Melbourne Tank Museum.

  • Does John Belfield have the ex-USN Linn tractor C-5 Catruk running around yet?

  • Sorry but I have no idea.

  • Nice video, was an awesome sight wasn't it. Whats the documentary you are making about? Just out of curiosity as well. On tanks such as that beauty or the Steam engines and etc at the rally.

  • The Doco's on the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club so it's about stationary & mobile steam plus oil engines, vintage tractors, earthmovers etc. Hope to have it finished in a month or so.

  • which engine does this sherman have? Detroit Diesels, Continental Radial, Ford GAA?

  • @davidrodgersNJ NO, i mean this actual tank. I think it was a Grant, and they converted it into a Sherman. I don't think there are any surviving Shermans in Australia.

But yes the Sherman came from the Lee eventually.

  • @desfa000 why dont you shoot the school with it?

  • I bought a Sherman Tank , so I can blow up cars that park right next to my mailbox.

  • Fantastic tank. Thumbs up!

  • Alot of stress on those tracks, you must have spare parts. Nice Video.

  • not a real Sherman

  • быстрая табуретка

  • Man what an ugly tank the sherman is.

  • @agwrangler I might have this wrong, but I think the Sherman was a sort of re-design of the Lee, which explains why the Sherman was so tall.
