A documentary film about Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture one of the hardest hit areas of the March 11, 2011 tsunami. This documentary deals with the city, the people and relief efforts completed by individuals living in Tokyo to send relief supplies to a center for disabled people in Ishinomaki.

  • 1:19 its my mom's store .car attacked

  • A nice documentary on a terrible tradegy. I lived in Japan for a while and they are strong willed people, they will recover from this.

  • UNIT 731.

  • The original Tsunami video used in this production can be seen in it's full length horror. Do a Google search on "The Heaviest Video of the Tsunami You'll Ever See". It is the first result. This is shocking.

  • Beautiful way of capturing the tsunami and making us understand how the people there must have felt . . . How wonderful that St. Mary's could help and serve as a role model.

  • Thank you for this report, The devastation is so real now with this clip. I wish our St. Mary's boys will stay be involved in this relief effort . I love your way of using this music and the image of piano in ruin. Beethoven has never imagined his music be used to go with Tsunami in JAPAN. Looking forward to seeing your next production.

  • The people at the lower right of the screen at 3:14 made it safely. There were three other people in the original video who we edited out that didn't make it and were swept away by the water...

  • i hope to god those people running away at 3:14 are safe

  • I am consumed with worry that people will rebuild in the SAME place because a tsunami WILL strike again.I was reading about the old stone tablets 600 years and older warning people not to live at the waters edge and to build only on the hills .It was heart-breaking to read the ancient warnings not to return for your possessions after an earthquake because to do so would ensure your death when the sea returned. What happened is a tragedy but it would be a greater tradgedy if it happened again.

  • Forgot Music credits:

Opening: Wilhelm Kempff - Beethoven Tempest Sonata Mvt. 3

Ending: Wilhelm Kempff - Beethoven Bagatelles, Op. 126
