  • I've been playing guitar off and on since 1990 ,I'm 36 and just picked the damn thing up again and I've always half assed playing this song , but after watching and listening to you , I'm going to give up haha. Sweet job there Mister Mister! :)

  • HaHaHa good one! Don't give up yet, if I can do it, so can you!

  • Hey, thanks! My guitar teacher taught me Anji 20+ years ago, and now that I'm retired, I'm learning to play it again. Your video is sure to help jog those memory cells.

  • Yep, I did that too, had to relearn it 30 years later, but it was worth the effort. Have fun!

  • Hi Goldhat, I really enjoyed your playing. In the proper Davy Graham vein, you play Angie as a smooth, somewhat melancholic piece. Simon already added a bit of salt 'n pepper, but the Dutch guitarist Harry Sacksioni (who also took the piece from Simon) turned it into a great bravurah piece and audience pleaser. Search for 'Sacksioni' and 'Anji' here on YouTube, and enjoy!

  • You're right, thanks for the tip. I enjoy all the different versions up on youtube. The more the merrier!

  • Actually I first heard if from Jansch. It's really Davy Graham's song. I still stand by my opinion of Jansch's version though.

  • This is a Bert Jansch tune which Simon recorded. Listen to Bert's version. I personally feel it is another level beyond Simon.

  • @elseverwoerd ...too fast for my liking, that's all. Goldlhat's speed is fine, as is Davy Graham's and Paul Simon's versions. I just think Harry S's version is too fast (and sometimes even for his fingers as he makes just a few mistakes I admit...but maybe these mistakes could have been avoided by just playing it a little slower.

  • @tremoloheart Too fast for what? This is by no means a trivial question.

  • @mcouzijn I think Harry plays it too fast.

  • Wicked good

  • your so cool man

  • very sensitive - a wonderful interpretation thanks
