This game seems like a very bed optimised console port. It doesn't matter which settings I use, the framerate dropping occurs everytime.

This gameplay is actually on high (everything set on/high, fade maxed, AA of, AF 4x)

On thi settings, the game runs quite smooth with avarange 40fps in the outside and 70fps in the inside (i have turned the V-Sync off). But when entering a new area, or looking in the middle of city, the framerate drops to 15-25fps, which cause suttering.

My setup:
HP Pavilion DV6
Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge 2.3-2.9Ghz
ATI Radeon HD6770m 2GB DDR5
6GB of DDR3 RAM
ATI Catalyst 11.10 Preview 3 (I can't install the new drivers)

  • Hey, you're better off than me! I have the same computer...and don't seem to do much better than 10 fps inside or out!

  • @Nate4s That's quite bad result. It seems like the game runs on the integrated graphics card. Get to the CCC and set the High performance GPU in TESV.exe. Or update your Bios and in the Bios settings set the switchable graphics to "fixed" and in the CCC turn on the high performance gpu.

  • I see nothing to complain about here. Your fps looks bearable compared to mine. The moment I transition from one place to another mine drops from 60 fps to 15 fps. I have to restart the damn game to fix it, which isn't even worth it considering it drops once I transition again.

  • @UltraLlama913 And set my reach the 'Bios' to change the settings? (Again, I'm a noob)

  • I get 10fps on minecraft :/

And I'm such a noob, how do I update Bios...?

  • @javak810i hey mate im having the same problem. Is CCC the same as AMD vision engine control centre? And how do u set the high performance GPU in TESV.exe?

  • Yeah, I went the BIOS route. Oddly enough, my problem was with vsync - I had it turned off in CCC and I thought in the game. Turns out I didn't write the iPresentInterval=0 command into the correct .ini file - now it runs at 60fps on high/ultra! Thanks for the suggestion and I hope you're enjoying the game!
