For one day every month, the entire Rhiza Labs team comes together to take a break from our normal work. Together, we choose a science project to work on... a project that helps us explore an interesting technology or business question that we don't normally get to explore in our work.
With the August 28th Science Project Day, we decided to explore alternative ways to physically represent data from the Information Commons. Specifically, could we hack a Lego Mindstorm kit (or two) to receive and act on alerts generated from within the Information Commons. The point isn't to really build anything long-lasting at the end of the day, but rather to have some fun, learn some skills and spend time with each other.
