My Grown Up Christmas List

A video slide show I created to help bring more awareness to the plight of homelessness not only this holiday season, but every day. No matter where you live, you can make a difference. Please help in any way that you can. A small gesture can help to better a person's future - and help get them off the streets for good. A few days ago, my history teacher asked the class "If you had one wish, what would it be?" He called on a few people who said that they want nlimited money. Then by best friend was called on, she also said the same thing. Then when I was called on I said "I want to end homelessness." everyone stared at me as if they thought that I was crazy. I felt horrible, I also felt sick to my stomach. I felt hollow inside as if nothing would ever be ok. Please, don't be selfish! Please, end homelessness.

To all of you haters saying homeless are lazy bums. The economy is getting tough and more and more people are losing their homes and some of the homeless people have a mental disability that makes them not be able to have the right skills for a job

I was watching a sitcom the other day, and one of the characters had been jailed for protesting for the homeless...she explained to the arresting cop, that she heard of a poor, pregnant woman who had been turned away at every place to give birth to her child...so she had no choice but to have her kid in a barn full of animals...the cop said "yes, they do live like animals, don't they?" The woman replied...yes, but we celebrate that child's birth every December 25th....

I know how it feels to be desperate, alone, cold, filthy, sick, hungry, frightened, desperate and hopeless. I was all that, a month ago. For christmas I donated to UNICEF and Heifer Project International instead of giving gifts. Keep up the good work!

So many people are bitter in this world. We are taught to love everyone. Keep this teaching alive and never, ever judge anyone. It is not ours to do.
