  • @Leia3574 You see alot of B-movies from th 1950's. They were so successful that they ended up getting major studios to adopt their formulas. Tango and Cash is a great film! Kurt Russell is great and so is jack palance.

  • @171view Thanks for the Info. I just thought, besides from a lower budget, a B-Movie has mostly second-rate actors. Which is not the case in Tango and Cash. So I learned something again today :o)

  • @Leia3574 By definition a B-movie is usually a lower budgeted film that mixes a bunch of different elements together. You'll see a little bit of sex/nudity, humor, action, drama, etc. B-movies are normally not as expensive as an "A" picture. Tango and Cash is a little hoaky too, but who cares, it's good entertainment. Over the Top is just fake for me. The acting is very bad to me. The Expendables was good. That was actually shown here on base

  • @171view I`ve seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade only once, so maybe my memory of the movie is incomplete. And I like Tango and Cash very much, or Avenging Angelo, Daylight, Demolition Man, The Expendables and Lock up, but Over the Top is one of my all time favorites from Stallone, apart from Rocky, and it always will be! :o)) And what makes a movie to a B-movie in your opinion?

  • @Leia3574 One of his better movies is Tango and Cash, it's a good B-movie shoot'em up.

  • @Leia3574 You obviously haven's seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The father/son relationship existed when he was a teenager with his dad. Then after 20 years they've had a falling out. Throughout the adventure in the film they learn about each other. Indy's father was very distant and aloof when he was growing up. So he really didn't know him. So the rebuilding of their relationship entirely from scratch is as if they met for the first time. They get a pretty good work out fighting nazis

  • @171view

Do you really think, that you can compare these two scenes? Because, it`s like you said: They "rebuild" their father and son relationship! But Link and Michael don`t have a basis to rebuild anything, they have to start completely new! And it`s like Link say in the scene, Michael says he hated him: "We have to start someplace!"

And why not with pumping weights?? And whether you like it or not: For the story it works, they get a connection to each other, and it`s their start!! :o)

  • @171view Whatever the term is, as long as you know what I mean, it`s okay! ;o)

I agree with you about Stallone`s carrer choices! (Although I must admit, that I like the movie "Rhinestone"*gg*) There are some movies, his acting is real bad and almost scary, mostly when he tries comedy! "Stop or my mom will shoot" is the greatest shit I ever try to watch in my entire life, and I just managed half an hour! And so is "Oscar" - good and funny movie actually, but real bad acting from Stallone!

  • @Leia3574 I agree more with EBIKE100's comment 11 months ago. I think the character development in this scene is over sentimental and extremely cheesy. You want to see some good character development not just in a scene but a film, take a look at Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade how Indy and his father bond and essentially rebuild a father and son relationship that over time was destroyed. That's much better than this ridiculous scene. If your cinematic taste is juvenile then this is for you

  • @Leia3574 Socially Scarred? I'd be socially scarred from this scene too.
