Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy Stick Dance Part 3

Haudenosaunee also called Iroquois Confederacy is made up of the Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca and Tuscarora Native American Indians. They were some of the first tribes to encounter non-Indians. Today they successfully try to keep their traditional dances and languages intact. Here are some examples of their efforts. Haudenosaunee cultural leaders taught the American Indian Dance Theatre the dances of the Iroquois Confederacy. The group performs the Stick Dance wearing traditional Iroquois regalia.

The dance group came to Reno Nevada and we called the local TV News station and they gave us the tape of the footage they shot. They were gonna erase it, but we said "Heck NO! we'll come down and get it" and they gave it to us. It was too goot to erase.
