Most amazing, haunting song ever.

been a fan since 2005. recognition long overdue. even if it does consist of 16-year-olds searching itunes for "Merry Go Round" because they saw some Bank of America commercial...*sigh*

There isnt a song by this artist that I dont like. She really is fantastic. If you are lucky enough to get to meet her, you should take the opportunity to do so. She played in Charlotte, NC a few months back and I got the chance to meet her. It was fantastic. Currently she plays mostly openers; she said she's not popular enough to do her own tour. I can't wait until she is though!

Thanks for this information gevansmd. I like all those Gs in a row...Gedda, Gleiwitz, Germany...especially since I'm married to Gerrit from Groningen! We both love Antje's voice and her songs.

The song is about Antje's grandmother, who's real name was Gedda and she was from Gleiwitz, Gemrmany, not Lousiana. Antje explains on her CD "Live at Eddie's Attic" that she changed the name and location because it sounded better. Her grandmother had alzheimer's and that's what the songs is about.
Love this one, too! Do you have "Anna"? Would be great to hear it again.

I have 'Anabelle'...
And boys grow out of the rust
Spin their wheels and turn to dust
On Black Bird Lane, I can hear my mama singing,
Like that?
