A short tribute to Clive Stafford Smith, a man who apparently believes evil people don 't exist.

  • I've made my position clear elsewhere; if the death penalty were reserved for the likes of Ted Bundy rather than for punks like Mumia, there would be no debate about it. Sentencing a man to death for one murder and then keeping him on death row for ten or fifteen years makes a mockery of the system. Having said that, I can't wait to see his poster girl Linda Carty dragged weeping and wailing to the gurney.

  • Your criticism of Smith seems just as emotionally laden as his criticism of the death penalty. I'm surprised we don't hear more statements about the death penalty on a practical level. Many states in the USA have it, but some have people sitting on death row for decades, longer than they would have lived in their own neighborhoods probably. Can that really be considered a deterrent, extending your life by getting on death row?

  • Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of the follow up to 14 days in May?. I believe its called the journey. I cannot find it anywhere. RIP Edward Earl Johnson executed 25 years ago this May 20th !
