Cops Defend The Tasering Of 72 Year Old Woman

Police in Texas are standing behind a deputys repeated taser attacks on an elderly great grandmother who was reportedly driving fifteen miles an hour over the speed limit in a construction zone. Kathryn Windfein says she was driving to Austin for a twice weekly shopping trip when she was pulled over for speeding by a Travis County Constable deputy. She admits that she was speeding, but says the deputys story about her resisting arrest and being violent is completely untrue.

2. He used unruly force and shoved a 72 year old women.

3. He commited a FELONY, Assult and battery, by shooting her with the tazer.

4. He tazered her WHILE on the ground, BEFORE giving orders to put her hands behind her back.

This officer should loose his badge, do prison time, and the old lady should sue his PD.

"aw well its the law, you have to comply" BLAH BLAH its a goddamn disgrace, i live in new zealand where we have some respect for our police and they sure as hell respect us. if this happened in new zealand she would have been TALKED TO, not screamed at and fucking tazered!!! it seems to always be american cops doing this ridiculous thing, they are nothing but bullies in my view. of course with the exception of the few kind and lawful ones.

NOBODY should be tased unless they are violent and pose a high risk......this officer could of used much better restraint. He should of just put her in the back seat of his car till she calmed down if he didn't want to deal with her.

@McNeil211 Wrong... his verbal warnings were short and unclear. The officer gave half a second to sign before losing his patience and opening her door. He reported that she was a threat and needed to be tasered. The story has changed from the written report and she will be taking the police department to court.

Its easy to understand, police make mistakes and they lie. Use your brain and realize that non-compliance doesn't mean you use potentially deadly force.

@Ultimist state laws, you must comply if being placed under arrest. They shouldn't have the authority to arrest anyone over traffic tickets and assaulting someone that poses no threat was the officers mistake.
