The Appalachian ethnicity has been so subjugated by so many outside forces that we often don't know of the socialist/communist/progressiv­e/labor/populist history of our region. Too many think that being a good Appalachian means voting Republican and yelling "Git R Done!" No! To be Appalachian is to live free of both corporation and government! To fight for better lives! And to be radical and possessed of infinite conviction!

You may not be Socialists anymore, but it was the Socialist working men/women who got the unions going. And I ain't going to forget it. I do agree though, that a vote for the Democrats is the same as a vote for the Republicans. Bipartisan politics reeks.

The Unions paid my Pappap when he lost his leg in the coal mines, trying to support 8 kids. The Union carried my dad's health bills when got emphysema working in a filthy steel mill. When he died, he had axle grease under his nails. Funeral director wanted to paint them. I said No. He was a workin man. Don't let the billionaires steal our Pride. They used to call Unions Red. Now they call them Blue. Fight for your life. They're trying to take it away. RightToWork means no benefits. Stop them.

The Democratic party seems a long way from the 2nd Amendment these days. I had a certain admiration for Joe Manchin that seems to be vanishing.

Libertarians are very anti government which I am---thus anti Obama

But we are very pro USA

We still vote Democtratic. Which is the same as a vote for Republicans. We are not socialists. We care about our brothers and sisters. And we know government is the biggest abuser of our people. I'd say we are true Libertarians.

Fact is 40% of union members do vote republican. Get the damn government out of our lives.

I've helped sing at many strikes, and have helped man the strike lines, when Boeing went out on strike. And I'd do it again
