KU School of Medicine-Wichita Match Day 2011

While many of us think of graduation as the most exciting day of school, in medical school it's really Match Day. In the fourth year of medical school, students choose their specialty and interview with residency programs. They rank their choices of residencies while the residency programs rank the students. And at 11 a.m. CST on the third Thursday of March all across the U.S., 4th-year medical students learn where they "matched" and will be doing their residency training.
