Consider your budget. I'm sure you can find an amp that will work well for practice as well as small/medium gigs that won't break the bank. Ibanez and Behringer come to mind. My clean tone is just bass direct into my digital mixer where I mix the sound of my voice and bass at the same time. I then go through to my CD burner. I then mix the CD track with the video. It takes some time to sync, but I believe it's worth the extra step. I think my videos sound better than most I've heard on here.

@slpr207 It's funny. You've made me remember a theory I once heard about female musicians.
I've always felt that there are maths involved with music and I've heard that the supposed fact that women aren't as good at maths as men is supposed to explain why you see so many more male musicians than female.
Just thought that might interest you. I know I found it interesting

@slpr207 Maths has always been a part of music,you know 4/4, 2 16th notes make a 8th note :) that's all maths :)

@CoolBear777 Ibanez's are great! The first bass I had was a borrowed '79 Ibanez Musician. It had been thrown out of a 2nd story window after a riot in a pub and it was STILL the best 4 string I've ever heard or played!

Nice lessons i'm starting at bass, but i got like 5 or 6 months of playing guitar.
Hey i wanna buy a practice amp and you say ibanez or behringer, someone told me about "acoustic" amps, they are good?
And one more thing, you could send me some arpeggios, pentatonic, etc.., things to help me practice and improve solos, please. i'll send you my mail by message.

Hi Joe. Great Video. It was very insightful and very helpful indeed with my practices. Im wondering if you could make a few videos on how to apply the things you've taught (scales, modes, slapping, etc) in 'real' situations like playing over a simple progression and such. Thanks for your videos! They are truly great. Thanks again and God bless!

Thank you very much for your kind words. I working on a website of my own to elaborate on these very topics. The very limited time on YouTube is just not enough to make a major impact. Wish me luck. I will keep everyone posted on my progress. Take care.

You know i think a lot of people do this when they first start playing with out realizing. When i first started to play bass i would play random things like that with out even realizing that its a finger warm up.

Anything we do is a warm-up. Play scales slowly enough and it's a warm-up. Shake your hands briskly - warm-up. Little things help get big results.
